The charm of Villa de La Roca rivals its amazing views
This multi-level small boutique boasts an absolutely charming staff, rooms, and shared spaces. The room was large, comfortable, cute, with a small sitting area in the room as well as just outside our sliding door. The room was very private - we felt like we had the place to ourselves even though there were other guests. The staff was wonderful - Efram even somehow found us when we were slightly lost as we arrived. The breakfast was great - especially with the breathtaking view. Of course, the AC was very much appreciated!

Wonderful B&B
My wife and I enjoyed ourselves immensely. The room was comfortable and clean and the air conditioning was greatly appreciated. I would consider this property to be more of a B&B than a hotel though. The breakfasts that they made in the morning were delicious. The views from the dining area are amazing, and being so close to Playa la Ropa was exactly what we wanted. The rooms don't have any views really but we really didn't spend all that much time in the room to be honest. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, we would love to go back someday.

Legendary
Really an epic location. There are few equals on location, for sure, but this is what you dream of for Acapulco, Ixtapa, or Zihua. Right at the top of Playa Ropa, the quintessential Mexico Pacific Beach. The hotel or beach could be on the cover of any publication or article.

A Hidden Gem
After a long trip we arrived at night and rode up the mountain in Zihuatanejo. I must confess to be afraid that the place was not what we expected. We finally found Villa de La Roca. The friendly staff welcome us and showed us the room, "WOW!" Loved it!Everything was so clean and inviting.Someone put a lot of thought in the styling of this Mexican villa. Simple but really cozy. There's a self serve bar where you can mix your own drinks. We just got some beer and refreshments. There's a fridge in the room with bottled water. There's no restaurant but they serve a delicious breakfast with coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, scrambled eggs, black beans and tortillas. Breakfast is included. The view from the tables is spectacular and free. The villa have the most gorgeous view of the sea and the city of Zihuatanejo. I don't know how would have been if there were more guests but we were lucky to have the pool and terraces for ourselves. There are two pools, small one at ground level and one smaller near the bar and the terrace. There are a couple of terraces, there is a small library with english books, tables, hammocks, a couple of adirondak chairs, and lounge chairs so you can sit in the sun or in the shadow. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. If we come back to Zihuatanejo we would definitely try to get a room here.

Spectacular! What an incredible experience!
Stayed here in February with some friends who rented the whole villa for three weeks. We stayed a week.First of all the view from here is spectacular! Perched high above the Zihau bay. It's amazing. Each morning, when we walked upstairs and were greeted by the spectacular view, i couldn't believe how lucky we were to be in such a cool place. we had breakfast every morning with our group at a long table overlooking the bay. each day was a different meal, and it was just right in size, and always tasted great!Sitting on the veranda is 'wow' just really spectacular! Especially at night when it was so clear and peaceful, with a full moon over the bay. really cool. The rooms were very spacious and each has it's own bathroom. The beds were large and comfortable, and the ceiling fans in our room were more than enough to keep it very pleasant in the evening. didn't use a/c the entire trip. Shower was great with plenty of hot water.Really enjoyed the local artwork on the walls too. Loved the open air nature of the villa as it faces the bay. no doors or windows needed here. the bedrooms were all toward the street and pool, and yes they had doors and windows with screens. it was very quiet at night and very peaceful.the beach is a very close very short walk. restaurants and town require a little bit of stamina to walk up the hill/street in front of the villa to get up to the main road. silver lining...coming back down the hill is a breeze. downtown is a 10 minute walk or so and is no problem, or taxis are always available both near the villa and in town.We should note, we always felt very safe in the villa and in Zihau, but it was a little un-nerving to see the Police and military driving patrols with 2 to 4 guys in the back of a pickup with machine guns. But it was more of a novelty than anything, as i say, we always felt totally safe and secure. didn't hear of any issues when we were down there. The nearby beaches are really great too. one place after another of beach and lounge chairs set up, and you just pick your location and pull up a chair. have some drinks and maybe lunch or munchies and the chairs are included. (you don't have to pay to rent a lounge chair. just enjoy a beverage). We took a couple of boat/beach trips while we were there too. very cool. try out Ixtapa Island. you can pick up a boat at Playa la Ropa Beach and it will take you there all day. come back when you're ready. The locals were awesome, and we will return to Zihua for sure in the future. can't say enough about Villa de la Roca and Zihau!
